La Sable: a slice of France comes to Mitchell I don’t usually write about food,…
After the silly season, it’s understandable if your wine rack or liquor cabinet is looking a tad depleted.
Luckily there’s an epic once-a-year liquor sale on this weekend where you can not only get some outrageously good deals, you can also taste a huge range of craft beers, wines and spirits (more than 100 of them in fact).
Farrah’s Liquor Collective opened up in Fyshwick in June 2019, bringing a brand new way of shopping for liquor to Canberra.
The massive 2400 square metres warehouse space houses an enormous array of wines, spirits and beers—some of which have never been for sale in Canberra before.
It’s a huge selection, encompassing everything from tiny organic vineyards to small boutique breweries, plus a healthy dose of local Canberra products. And every single one of them is sold at a massive discount.
“We help the producers by cutting out the costs of doing business and going straight to the farmgate pricing. And we then pass those savings directly onto the customers,” says Farrah’s Liquor Collective owner Matt Farrah.
With the products already discounted year-round, it’s a great place to stock up any time, but on Saturday 8 February, Farrah’s Liquor Collective is launching their annual warehouse sale—and offering even further discounts.
Customers can stock up and take advantage of discounts including 15 per cent off any 12 bottles or more of wine, 20 per cent off all 4/6 packs of craft beer, and 5 per cent off all spirits—that’s off the already heavily reduced prices.
When you’re stocking up on drinks it can be easy to buy the same thing over and over, which is understandable—it’s always a gamble buying something new without knowing whether you’re going to like it or not.
It’s something Matt and his team well and truly understand—they carefully select and taste every single product themselves to make sure it reaches the Farrah’s Liquor Collective standard.
“We pride ourselves on knowing every product and making sure the quality is super high but the pricing is awesome value. We save our customers up to 70 per cent off normal retail pricing,” says Matt.
And because they want their customers to enjoy the same luxury, they offer free beer, wine and spirit tastings at the warehouse.
It’s an added bonus that’s available all throughout the year, but for their annual sale they’re going all out with a special lineup of guests and makers.
On the day there will be over 100 products available to taste, and headlining the spirit tasting is Doug van Tienen from Whisky Live, who will take customers through a specialised range of craft spirits from around the world.
“Doug’s knowledge and expertise in the craft spirit field is unsurpassed and it is a great opportunity to gain knowledge of all things spirit from one of the best spirit judges in the world,” says Matt
“Coupled with some of our local Aussie distillers this is going to be a fantastic tasting for any lover of spirits and you can try before you buy.”
Doug will be joined by representatives from local wineries Lerida Estate, Murrumbateman and Contentious Character, plus Headlands Distilling Co.
“If you haven’t been to Farrah’s Liquor Collective then Saturday 8 February is a great opportunity to try these amazing products for yourself, including some spirits you may never had the opportunity to try and buy and find out for yourself how fantastic the products and pricing really are,” says Matt.
