Matt Moran bids farewell to Canberra, Compa and &Sando

It’s goodbye to Matt Moran’s Italian bistro Compa and sandwich joint &Sando and hello to two new ventures run by The Fresh Collective.
Moran partnered up with the The Fresh Collective to bring Compa and &Sando to Canberra just over two years ago, but the Sydney celebrity chef is taking a step back, handing the venues to Fresh Collective to operate exclusively, and saying goodbye to his Canberra association.
In turn, there are some changes coming to Bunda Street.
Stacks is the new sandwich and coffee bar, and Curiosa is morphing into a wine bar, starting from tomorrow.

Promising sandwiches higher than you standards and Single O coffee, Stacks will follow the same business model as Sando with minimal changes to look or feel.
Curiosa, however is a different ballgame.
With a subtle glow-up to change it from formal restaurant to cheeky and irreverent wine bar, Curiosa opens tomorrow night in a new incarnation. Think more quirky and casual with a pared back menu you’d likely find in a hole-in-the-wall Italian Enoteca and focus on local region wines.

“As we farewell Compa and &Sando, we are incredibly proud of what was created and deeply grateful to the Canberra community, as well as Matt Moran and his team, for their collaboration. We thank our team, suppliers and loyal guests for their ongoing support, and look forward to welcoming you to an exciting new chapter with Curiosa and Stacks,” The Fresh Collective said in a statement.
