Nine new places in Canberra to get a coffee

Posted on

If getting a coffee and treat is something of a ritual for you, we have some good news.

Because there are nine new places in Canberra where you can enjoy some brew-tiful beverages that are guaranteed to perk you up.

All are open on different days of the week, so we recommend starting at the top of the list and working your way down—you won’t want to skip any of these!

Bakehouse (Kambah)

Located conveniently at the Kambah Village Shopping Centre, Southsiders can now stop in for a sweet or savoury artisan baked good from Bakehouse. And with everything from ‘made without gluten goodies’ to Jalapeno and Cheddar Sourdough to go with your coffee, there’s literally something to eat for every occasion (not that you need one).

Serving Pablo and Rusty’s coffee and plenty of delicious grab-and-go items (think: fresh sandwiches, bacon and egg rolls, meat pies and more) Café Noon is a new hidden gem to add to your hit list during the work week. Just make sure to head along hungry!

Salters Café (Fyshwick)

Local coffee connoisseurs, culinary enthusiasts, and vintage lovers alike will need to hold onto their wallets— this “café that tastes like a restaurant” is now open in Dirty Janes and our weekends have never sounded so good. After all, nothing goes together better than vintage shopping and a hot cup of coffee, especially in winter.

Max Brenner (City)

Max Brenner is now open in the city—but they don’t just serve hot choccies. Order yourself a cappuccino and grab one of their new cheese toastie waffles (called The Toffle) to go. Your Saturday morning is sorted.

Cult ice-creamery Anita has been the talk of the town—but did you know you can also order a hot coffee (served with a delicious Lotus Biscoff cookie) with your gelato? That said, you can also combine the best of both worlds and order one of their coffee-based tasty treats.

Three Mills Bakery (City)

City workers and Braddonites now have the perfect excuse to face this wintery weather for a luxe coffee break—Three Mills Bakery is open on Cooyong Street. Only open during the week, this inner-city space also has plenty of “grab-and-go” lunch options including sourdough taglio sandwiches. Coffee run, anyone?

Café Stepping Stone (Dickson)

Bringing the same soul to a brand-new location, the social enterprise Café Stepping Stone has opened a second location in Dickson—because one wasn’t enough. Pop in to grab a coffee and to try one of their many desserts that are made in house. Tahini banana bread anyone?
