Your nights out are about to get a whole boozier—Canberra’s newest bar Cabo is here and it promises to be a place where tequila reigns supreme.

Brought to life thanks to the Lala Hospitality family, (the force behind local favourites Molly, Highball, Amici Wine Bar & Deli, 88mph, and Bleachers Sports Bar), with everything from Sunday Sangria Sessions, Tequila Tastings and Build Your Own Margarita experiences on offer it will bring a fresh new Mexican flare to Northbourne Avenue.

That’s right, you can select your tequila, style, and salt, and sip away on your perfect marg, indulge in bottomless sangria, or just head in for a signature shot (we have our eyes on the Wake The Dead with Los Arango Coffee Tequila, Tia Maria and cold press).

And that’s just the drinks menu—we haven’t even gotten to the taco platters that will be available for all-day dining, and the food menu that will transport you to the heart of Mexico with churros, nachos, and more.

Conveniently located below Highball (a very good location for a bar hop…just putting it out there) with spring on the horizon you can chase those sundowner vibes with every kind of tequila you can think of (from artisanal Blanco to aged Añejo) seven days a week. And with an ambiance that oozes modern coastal vibes (think neutral colour palette, organic aesthetic and a beachy soundtrack), you’ll be able to experience the feeling of sand between your toes, sea breezes in your hair and a cocktail in hand, without leaving town. Who needs to book a holiday?

Bookings will be available via their website at cabocanberra.bar or walk-ins will be welcome till the early hours. And after a long week, you have to admit nothing sounds better than a cold, salt-rimmed glass filled with tequila, triple sec, and lime.
