For those who love a good pint and can’t resist a British accent, we have some exciting news: the viral beer reviewer Schooner Scorer is coming to Canberra.

Have no idea who that is? Neither did we until about five minutes ago, but it turns out the Schooner Scorer (AKA Alex Hendy) is a big name in the social space – and it’s not just because of his good looks (although those help too).

With over 430,000 followers on Instagram and 159,000 on TikTok, Alex is a British influencer famous for his one-take videos, rating schooners out of ten. On the hunt for the perfect pint, Alex has made a name for himself travelling the world and partnering with some big names all in the name of content. An example? Tom Holland. That tingle you just felt wasn’t just your spidey-senses….

Anyway. The point is that the Schooner Scorer is now bringing his luxuriously floppy hair and perfect white teeth to Canberra for one night only.

Taking place on Thursday 29 January from 5.30 pm, he’ll be appearing at Walt & Burley as Bentspoke Brewing Co. takes over the taps and pours a rotating line-up of Bentspoke beers, led by the favourite local staple Crankshaft IPA.

And you can bet that the Schooner Scorer will be filming a live review on site while experiencing the capital’s pub scene first-hand.

The Schooner Scorer’s Canberra stop follows a series of appearances around the country, including recent Sydney visits where he has collaborated with high-profile figures, including Travis Head and Pat Cummins, and dropped into some of Australia’s most talked-about pubs and venues.

Locally, the timing aligns with growing national attention on Australian independent beer, as the industry turns its focus to the upcoming GABS Hottest 100, where BentSpoke has long been a familiar name.

Shining a spotlight on one of Canberra’s most iconic independent breweries, the question is, will the Schooner Scorer give our local beer a 10/10? Followed by, is his hair actually that floppy in person?
