This is not a drill: Yo-Chi is coming to Canberra
Posted on
For those who have long lamented the lack of Yo-Chi in Canberra, we have some very exciting, breaking news: that’s soon going to change.
How do we know? The chronically online HerCanberra team spotted this Instagram post this morning, showing a job description for an Assistant Venue Leader to help launch Yo-Chi‘s very first ACT venue.

We can confirm that the job is real AND that they’re also looking for a Venue General Manager. And after years of watching jealously as people from around the nation show off their go-to Yo-Chi order on TikTok, all we can say is: OUR TIME HAS FINALLY COME.
Cue the cheers of frozen yogurt lovers (and those suffering from FOMO) everywhere.
No idea what the hype is about? Here’s a very brief rundown: Yo-Chi is something of a cultural phenomenon. Combining customisable, high-quality frozen yogurt with a vibrant, alcohol-free social atmosphere, the chain has become known as a fun and inclusive hangout space for all ages (although you will likely spot many Gen Zers there).
It also has a rule-free approach to the self-serve model (hello, unlimited scoops of chocolate chunk cookie cake) and is very, very delicious.
While we don’t know the location or the predicted opening date of the ACT store, you can bet that we’re excited. Keep an eye on this space to see the next Yo-Chi scoop when it drops.
