If you ask us (and you should, we know a thing or two about food),…
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a city in the grips of a bitter winter must be in want of truffles.
Lucky for Canberra, Verity Lane Market is running its own Truffle Week which kicks off on 13 July and will run deliciously until 17 July.
In partnership with the Truffle Festival, Verity Lane will showcase the bounty of ACT truffles in a variety of ways across a number of events.
There will be a Turalla Truffle X Dear Prudence fine dining experience with matching wines.
Taking place on Tuesday 13 July, Damian Robinson of Turalla Truffle, Gerald Ong of Project Enoki, and Chester Mok of Dear Prudence will collaborate over five gastronomic courses.
Expect a unique seasonal offering with explosive flavours and unexpected combinations, all in the service of highlighting these winter treasures. We don’t want to give too much away, but will say Gerald’s magnificent burnt Basque cheesecake will feature some of the Turalla truffle for the occasion.
For those who can’t make the dinner, Verity Lane Market food partners Ramen Daddy, My Sabor, Uno Tapas, Super Bao, and Pasta Artigiana will highlight and support locally-grown winter truffles across their menus between throughout the week.
Expect items such as Truffle ramen and pizzas, cacio en pepe with lashings of fresh winter truffle, steamed egg custard with XO and truffles, and more.
And for those keen to take some truffle home, there will be a Truffle Festival Pop-Up Shop on Friday and Saturday the 16th – 17th of July.
Buy fresh truffles directly from the growers including Turalla truffles, and the Canberra Truffle Festival growers. Learn their tips and tricks on how to use truffles or just take in the free smells. Heck, why not even bring your dish over and ask for the “Truffle me” option.
The truffle festival pop-up shop will run in the bar area of Verity Lane Market.
