Waffle On: six to try

Posted on

Waffles are a breakfast favourite…or at least they’re my favourite.

Across Canberra, you can enjoy them in a variety of ways, from bubbly and soft to crunchy and savoury. Here are six to seek out.

With Ccramelised apple, pecans, maple syrup and vanilla ice cream on a brown butter waffle, Red Brick Espresso in Curtain has bottled summer – just in time for winter.

Mascarpone, plum and blueberry compote, chocolate fudge and peanut brittle. Perfectly soft and sweet for Sunday brunch at Local Press.

Space Kitchen

Space Kitchen’s Unicorn Waffles might look amazing but they taste even better.

Strawberry and mango ice cream, fairy floss and watermelon curd – this is the dish to satisfy those sweet tooth cravings.

Maple + Clove

With the tagline ‘life’s short. Eat the waffles’, you can’t say no. And it’s healthy too!

Alongside their sweet waffle option, Maple + Clove offers a savoury waffle made with wholemeal spelt, zucchini and sweet corn served with smoked salmon, smashed avocado, and poached eggs.

Tamago Bubblewrap Co.

Tamago Bubblewrap Co. is an Insta-worthy dessert if ever we saw one.

These soft and bubbly delights are waffles with a Japanese twist.

Caffe Cherry Beans

Caffe Cherry Beans can be found all across Canberra, serving up a huge range of sweet and savoury traditional Belgium waffles. The real question is, how to choose between toppings…
