This is not a drill! Canberra’s iconic Yarralumla Turkish Halal Pide House opens in Westfield Belconnen today!
They say that you can’t call yourself Canberran unless you’ve had a kebab from the Yarralumla Turkish Halal Pide House and now you can get your fix, northside!
Oh yes, get ready northside foodies. From today, Monday 2 September, Belconnenites and northsiders can enjoy a piping hot Halal Snack Pack without the drive.
Opening in the Lathlain Street Dining Precinct at Westfield Belconnen, the Belco Halal Kebabs and Pizzeria will serve up the same delicious Turkish fare as its southside flagship, with Turkish kebab rolls, snack packs, banquets, pides and fresh desserts.
It’s a universally-acknowledged fact* that these handmade masterpieces are a staple of the Canberran way of life. A quick and delicious after-work dinner, an epic takeaway feast for groups of every sizes and yes, perhaps one after a big night. But these aren’t just any kebabs or pides. They come with a reputation so flawless that I once heard a guy sing a ballad about them at a university talent night. True story.
But wait, there’s more. Customers at the Belconnen store will also be able to order halal pizzas, with options like Halal Pepperoni, Sucuklu (Turkish salami topped with onions, tomatoes, capsicum and tasty mozzarella), The Hot Bird, Vegan Vegetarian and The Dragon Breath.
With online ordering and free delivery to Belconnen, Florey, Page, Weetangera, Macquarie, Bruce, Lawson and Mackellar, the northside is about to get a whole lot tastier. We hear they might even have an opening offer too, so stay tuned…
