From walks and workshops to music and markets there is something for everyone to enjoy during SouthFest in the Suburbs this November!

And with over 50 events and activities across the Tuggeranong Valley, there’s plenty for you to do to celebrate life in the south. Here’s what you can’t miss.

See you by the lakeside

Relax by Lake Tuggeranong to the sounds of The Wayne Kelly Trio. Head along after work for a glass of wine and an evening of cruise-y vibes, when some of Canberra’s most renowned jazz artists bring a sense of familiarity and world-class musicianship to the lawns of the Tuggeranong Arts Centre.

Mt Taylor Wellbeing Walk

There’s something satisfying about reaching the summit of a hill-climb, but there’s also much to be savoured en route to the top–and stopping to notice the little details only amplifies the bigger picture.

Join Sally Holliday from Landcare ACT’s Wellbeing through Nature program for a wellbeing walk to the top of Mt Taylor. You’ll pause along the way to take in expansive views across the Tuggeranong Valley and explore the many established links between nature-connection and wellbeing–mental, physical, social and spiritual. Plus, a cuppa will be waiting for you upon your return!

Southside Fringe Fest

A night just for the grownups, head along to Southside Fringe Fest for an exciting evening of cabaret, air guitar and dancing with Canberra’s favourite 12 piece cover band. Three of Canberra’s emerging performance artists will also be there (and it’s the perfect excuse come along to enjoy some bubbles and beer).

Sunday Funday

Want to try a new sport? Get ready to take to the field with over 20 sporting clubs heading to the Erindale Viking club to show you the ropes. From the ACT Brumbies and Vikings Rugby to the Australian Capital Taekwondo and Lake Tuggeranong Rowing, there’s sure to be something you’ll get a kick out of (plus, the first 100 visitors will receive a free show bag).

Battle of the Bands

Crown of the Crop

Come along to create some nature crowns with Lousie Cook. This nature inspired crown portrait is about tapping into your creative spirit, connecting to your inner voice, having fun and leaving feeling a little lighter.  Through this experience you will have the opportunity to work in a natural setting to discover the joy of creating up to three nature crowns, tap into your creative self and pose for authentic portrait photos in each of your nature crowns.

Cleaning with a side of ducks

Head down to Tuggeranong Lake to help give it some much deserved spring cleaning (and get the bonus of a free workout). Now you don’t have to make it a competition but we’re just saying there’s nothing stopping you from taking a friend and seeing who can collect the most rubbish, because all of your hard work will be rewarded with a well-earned BBQ at the end! Just make sure to bring along a hat and some gloves to protect against all the elements you’ll encounter.

Walk and Talk
