Calling all changemakers, visionaries and curious minds: TEDxCanberra 2024 is coming
Posted on
TEDxCanberra’s flagship event is back this November, promising to shine a light on local talent, while tackling the issues that matter most.
Taking place on Friday 1 November at the National Film and Sound Archive (NFSA), some of Canberra’s best ideas will be showcased, acting as a platform for up-and-coming changemakers and artists.
And with an epic line-up of speakers and performers planned, TEDxCanberra 2024 will be the ultimate celebration of great ideas on science, technology, arts, culture, and the humanities.
Centred around the theme of ‘ILLUMINATE’, the event aims to shine a beacon of clarity, knowledge, and inspiration in a world increasingly defined by complexity and change.
Presenting a series of brilliant ideas from brilliant people – from scientist and balloon sculptor Dr Chloe Lim to Astronomer Karlie Noon and She Shapes History founder Sita Sargeant, they’ll be unravelling the intricacies of everything from global challenges to local innovations.
Led by disability and LGBTIQ+ advocate Wayne Herbert (who will be the MC for the day), Dr. Mark Crossweller, Liz Little, Dr. Kate Luckins, Mitch Porteous and Stela Solar will also be taking to the stage to make you laugh, cry, and (most importantly) feel inspired.
With event registration including access to two sessions of talks, networking, activations, as well as lunch and afternoon tea, it’s well worth attending the day.
Along with gaining fresh insights that highlight new ways of thinking and solving problems, you’ll also be able to connect with a diverse group of people who share your passion for change, explore the NFSA with special tours, and support the local businesses who will be showcasing at ‘Innovation Alley’ – a brand new activation space.
Want more? The event will also feature some of Canberra’s best emerging artistic talent with special performances from Neeman Piano Duo and Sam Sly.
Ideal for changemakers, visionaries and curious minds who understand that in a world filled with uncertainty, light is our greatest tool for transformation, don’t miss this opportunity to hear some ideas that are not just worth spreading, but worth acting upon.
