Meet Canberra’s luxury electric vehicles
Posted on
If you’ve been thinking about a new car, chances are you’ve at least considered an electric vehicle.
They’re not only significantly kinder to the environment, they’re also much cheaper to run, quieter, faster to accelerate, and the ACT Government is even offering incentives if you buy one.
And the good news is that these days, you don’t have to compromise if you want an electric vehicle. You can still drive around in style, with an electric vehicle and luxury car all in one. Audi was one of the first to enter that market, launching the e-tron in Australia in September last year.
The full-sized, luxury SUV is a spacious family car with state-of-the-art electric drive, and all of the luxury appointments you’d expect from an Audi, but zero emissions. The car has 360-degree cameras, leather-appointed upholstery, heated seats, wireless charging for smartphones, and voice control for a range of functions.
It even has regenerative braking, so it recharges the battery while you’re braking. And it’s seriously spacious, even for a family that likes to pack everything and the kitchen sink for trips away. It has room for a total of 660 litres of luggage capacity, including 60 litres under the front bonnet in the space normally occupied by a conventional engine.
Audi Centre Canberra has been serving the Canberra community for 13 years, and since day one, it’s been a local, family-owned company. They’re passionate about exceptional service that extends well beyond a sale, and also support local charities and sporting teams including Lifeline Canberra, the Canberra Capitals and Canberra Raiders.
It’s also the only place in town to experience the full Audi range. The centre is very proud to have recently been appointed as both an e-tron (EV) dealership and an Audi High Performance centre, so it is not only the place to go to check out the e-tron, but it will also be one of the first places to get Audi’s future EV releases as soon as they hit the market.
“Audi, like many brands, is moving towards electric vehicles, and within the next decade, they’re promising to cease production of combustion engines altogether,” says Greg Newman, Dealer Principal of Audi Centre Canberra.
“So EV is the way of the future. We’ve already got the e-tron, but Audi will be bringing more and more out in the coming years and beyond. And as a specialty electric vehicle outlet, we’ll always get the full range.”
When you move to an EV, one of the biggest changes is you’ll need a car charger at home, and also know where charges are available when you’re out and about.
“When you buy an e-tron or any of the EV vehicles from Audi’s range in the future, it comes complete with a home charger, which a specialist team will install it in your home prior to you taking delivery of your new vehicle,” says Greg.
“We also have fast chargers available here at Audi Centre Canberra for our clients if they’re out and about in town and want to top up.”
Prefer the roar of an engine and to feel like you’re about to step into the racetrack? As one of the exclusive High Performance Sports Dealership, Audi Centre Canberra is also able to offer Audi’s full range of bred-from-race car vehicles, including all S and RS models.
