Ask me on December 21 and I’ll respond enthusiastically. Ask me on June 21 and…
Planning anything for the long weekend?
If the better-than-usual start to the snow season hasn’t already put a spring in your step, then what about the prospect of skiing one minute, grooving the next?
The Perisher Peak Music Festival is on this coming long weekend. And if you are quick, you can still get tickets to see a stellar lineup of more than 35 artists, who will rock 120 performances over ten stages across the four-day concert from June 9-12.
“This really is the best way to celebrate the start of the snow season,” says Perisher PEAK Festival Executive Director, Belinda Shore.
“This event brings together snow and music and the energy is endless…It is such a fun weekend so get your friends together and make it happen.”
Now in its ninth year, the festival attracts Australian and international artists from across various music genres including big beat, funk, reggae, roots and more.
There is something to suit the musical tastes of everyone and the line-up this year promises again to deliver some big names and also provide a platform for emerging artists to be discovered.
Feast your ears on Sampa The Great, Tijuana Cartel, The Strides, Remi, Mikelangelo and the Black Sea Gentlemen.
Whether it is the soulful ska of Cheap Fakes or the carnival of percussion, wind, brass and accordions, and fiddles that is the Con Artists, the festival promises to expand your cultural and musical horizons as well as allowing you to celebrate the start of the ski season.
“We’re hoping that more locals will make the most of the event this year – we’re bringing together a seriously talented line-up and we know everyone who goes will have a great time,” says Belinda.
Meanwhile, organisers have made it easy – offering a range of packages for festival-goers.
For just $349, you can purchase three night’s of accommodation, including breakfast and a four-day festival pass – a great deal before you even consider you are in prime skiing territory.
There is also a new “6-Pack” deal for the person who always organises their friends into weekend events – if you get five friends booked in together you can get a free ticket.
Perisher Peak Festival is proudly supported by the NSW Government as part of its Regional Flagship Events Program.
