From opulent flower gardens, decadent pastries and friendly alpacas, we’ve got your weekend all planned out.

Looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life? Be sure to take a trip out to Sutton!

Located 30 minutes from the centre of Canberra, you’re sure to be hooked instantly on this flourishing community’s charisma. With enough to keep you occupied for a weekend  (and the next, and the next) we are sure we’ve just found your next favourite pit stop. Bread, art and alpacas? Count us in!

Tulip Top Gardens

If you’re a fan of Floriade, we have no doubt you’ll fall in love with the Tulip Top Gardens that lie just outside of Sutton. Rows and rows of bright coloured buds dot the landscape as far as the eye can see, all sitting beneath the shade of lush willow trees—doesn’t that just sound divine?

This garden is open until Sunday 16 October and we thoroughly recommend setting aside a day to explore this colourful wonderland. Bring a blanket, picnic basket and leave your worries at home, it’s the perfect experience this spring.

Are you or your little ones obsessed with alpacas? Or are you just after a cuddle with a llama? You need to know about Alpaca Magic!

Offering a variety of meet and greets with their furry residents, Alpaca Magic provides the perfect country experience for the whole family. Have breakfast with a llama, converse with cows, say hello to their donkeys and go for a walk with the alpacas—there’s something for everyone on this farm. Alpaca Magic also offers fibre craft workshops running on a regular basis, so you can get hands on working with llama and alpaca wool.

Worried you’ll miss the farm? Be sure to keep an eye on the paddocks to your left for the giant llama spelled out on the hill. It’s hard to miss!
