Tattooing and alcohol, what could go wrong? Ink and Drink comes to Canberra

Posted on

Ever seen someone’s tattoo or looked around a tattoo studio and thought ‘Pfft, that looks easy. I could do that’.

Well, a new pop-up is coming to Canberra to show you just how wrong you are.

Meet Ink and Drink – the night out that’s like paint and sip but with…fake skin?

Aiming to demystify the tattoo industry and educate people about its global history and cultural significance, Ink and Drink gives you the chance to try your hand (literally) at the art of tattooing, by having real tattoo artists teach you the basics with real tattoo guns and artificial skin (and real alcohol).

From Thursday 29 February until 3 March you can head down to Transit Bar in the city, pull up a chair, pull your graft of artificial skin towards you (sorry, we still can’t get over it) and have a go at tracing the pre-stencilled tattoos to see if it’s really that easy after all (spoiler alert: it’s probably not) while having a laugh.

Who knows – maybe you’ll discover a new passion or skillset (or just score points for the most creative first-date idea in Canberra).

Just promise us you’ll think twice before adding ‘tattoo artist’ to your LinkedIn afterwards.
