Say ‘I do’ to the huge Wedding Open Night at Old Parliament House

Posted on

The Old Parliament House Wedding Open Night offers couples the chance to check out one of Canberra’s most iconic wedding venues.

If the thought of planning a wedding has you a little overwhelmed, never fear. On Thursday 11 April, Old Parliament House will host a free Open Night designed to give couples a preview of what their special day could look like at this gorgeous, heritage-listed venue.

“Old Parliament House sets the stage for a wedding with wow-factor”, says Rebecca Mountain, Event Sales Manager at OPH.

“The unique and versatile venue spaces are perfect for every type of wedding from small, intimate affairs to large, grand weddings.”

If that sounds like your style, you can head along to the Open Night to taste delicious samples from the menu, as well as meet with OPH’s recommended suppliers like DJs, photographers and stylists. There’ll be prizes and exclusive offers available, along with experienced wedding coordinators on hand to answer questions about making your big day a reality.

“The Senate Courtyard is an idyllic location to hold your wedding ceremony. Reminiscent of a secret garden it has a built-in pergola, a perfect backdrop to exchange vows,” says Rebecca, adding that the venue stands out thanks to its “charm, character and memorability.”

Couples can consider a potential reception in the Members’ Dining Room, for a grand, refined atmosphere and incredible views of Parliament House; or the Members’ Bar, for a more relaxed retro cocktail-party feel (complete with baby grand piano!)

“We offer a complete wedding experience—from getting ready in the dedicated bridal room with your bridesmaids, to a romantic ceremony in the Senate Courtyard, a stunning reception in the Members’ Dining Rooms and finally bidding your guests farewell from the magnificent Queen Victoria Bridges—the entrance designed especially for the Queen to use when she visited Parliament,” Rebecca explains.
