FANAEIANS launches Canberra’s first men’s spa destination

For more than a decade, FANAEIANS in Braddon has built a trusted reputation as one of the city’s leading barbers.

This week marks the next chapter in that journey with the launch of Canberra’s first dedicated men’s barber and spa in a single destination.

Founder Shaun Fanaeian says the idea to launch FANAEIANS Barber and Spa was shaped by conversations with longtime clients and travel through Europe and the UAE, where dedicated men’s grooming and wellness spas are more established. In Canberra, he saw an opportunity to curate a destination where barbering, skin and wellness services come together in an environment designed specifically around the way men experience grooming, wellness and self-care.

For many men, booking a facial, manicure or spa treatment can still feel unfamiliar. Beauty environments have traditionally been designed and marketed towards women. Of an estimated 20 + day spas in the ACT, the overwhelming majority are general or traditionally female-oriented businesses, leaving some men feeling unsure of where to begin.

“Traditional day spas don’t always feel welcoming to men,” says Shaun. “We wanted to create a professional, comfortable environment where clients can access precision barbering alongside grooming, skin, nail and wellness treatments in a space designed for men and inclusive for all.”

As men’s grooming evolves from more than the fortnightly haircut or beard trim, an increasing number of men are seeking treatments once considered outside the mainstream. Industry reporting points to continued growth in premium men’s grooming and skincare, alongside changing attitudes towards self care.

FANAEIANS is a place where men can pause, recharge and invest in themselves – whether it’s an express treatment between meetings, an afternoon to unwind from daily pressure or simply connect over a coffee.

Their menu toasts a unique experience for grooms ahead of their big day with a range of treatments to suit men at all ages and stages of life. From enjoying a rejuvenating oxygen treatments while getting a manicure or pedicure or adding a signature scalp massage to their regular grooming and maintenance, FANAEIANS is also a place to consider sending dad for a day of pampering ahead of Father’s Day.

FANAEIANS have also partnered with Australian organic skincare brand Sodashi to tailor a treatment menu specifically to men’s needs. From signature scalp rituals and restorative back treatments that include Sodashi’s indulgent mud mask to executive manicures and pedicures, the menu has been designed to support every aspect of men’s grooming, skin and wellbeing.  FANAEIANS is also the first in Canberra to introduce Sodashi’s certified organic retail range, targeted to common skin concerns for men, including shaving irritation, sensitivity, dehydration and environmental stress.

“From the way your hair is cut to the condition of your skin or the presentation of your hands, self-care isn’t about luxury, it’s about investing in yourself and how you show up every day,” says Shaun.

“Our clients want to feel polished and confident, whether that’s through a sharp haircut, healthier skin or a manicure before an important meeting. How we feel about ourselves influences how we show up for others in business, in our relationships and in everyday life. When people feel confident, that confidence carries into every interaction,” says Shaun.
