Canberra Fair 2024: A fashion runway, aerial artists and street food, oh my!

Planning a big event, milestone celebration or wedding and looking for inspiration?

Want to spend your Sunday browsing local businesses while indulging in some of Canberra’s best street food? Did you know there’s a place where you can do all of the above?

The Canberra Fair returns for another year of fashion, fun and food – and you’re invited. Taking place at the National Convention Centre Canberra, the event is designed to create a one-stop-shop for those looking to plan their perfect event or getaway, including stalls representing venues, florists, styling, fashion, beauty, travel and more.

Across the day you’ll watch live music, have the chance to sit front row at The Parade Fashion Runway, picnic indoors under a giant Naked Tipi, shop stalls from local brands and eat some delish street food.

“We are ready to welcome the crowds – brides, event planners, gin lovers, hungry locals and fashionistas – all attending ready to be inspired and astounded,” says The Canberra Fair Founder Danielle Cleary of Danielle Cleary Events. “We are excited to host the best of our surrounding region’s market leaders in weddings, events, travel and lifestyle, in an immersive, holistic and experiential journey.”

Danielle says the feedback from last year’s guests was nothing but positive – especially when one of those guests walked away with a trip to Fiji.

“Our guests loved the fashion parades and the local and regional business exhibits on show with competitions and prizes to win. This year, one lucky VIP will again win an Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort getaway.”

“This year we’re excited to bring some light and joy to a cold Canberra winter in our heated indoor Exhibition Hall at the NCCC and inspire guests’ spring and summer event plans.”

For fashion lovers, there’s nowhere better to be. On the runway, former Miss Galaxy Australia and Cancer Council Ambassador Emily Egan will introduce the Fair’s two fashion runways with Chandeliers To Die For.

The first parade will showcase wedding and event attire and the second travel and lifestyle wear – think: the perfect thing to wear poolside in Fiji – with fashion and accessories from Laurita Designer, Momento Dezigns, Honeysuckle & Lace and the newly opened Hunter and Siren.

Then, get ready for the cutest runways ever.

Firstly, Danielle Cleary Events has partnered with Vinnies Canberra Region to showcase recycled fashion for the children’s fashion runway (adorable) and then, get ready for the fur-bulous Pet on Parade in partnership with RSPCA ACT where Canberra’s top dog Rodeo will take to the runway in designer attire.

Tickets are now on sale – and you can even buy a VIP ticket that will reserve your seat in the front row alongside a goodie bag worth $40 courtesy of Canberra Centre as well as going in the draw to win that Outrigger Fiji Resort getaway.

Street food, a tipi and a runway with bridal, fashion and a dog…could your Sunday get any better? We think not.
