It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Westfield Belconnen—but the centre has already received an early present.
On Tuesday, the centre revealed its brand-new MYER store, just in time for Christmas shopping. Spanning two floors and 7234 sq metres, we got the chance to explore the new space earlier this week, including the first floor dedicated to women’s fashion, shoes, accessories and kids clothing—oh, and a vast new Beauty Emporium that will make beauty lovers go weak at the knees.
Inside, shelves glisten with the latest offerings from the biggest names in beauty—think: Clinique, Jurlique, Estée Lauder, Lancôme, Philosophy—as well as a jaw-dropping selection of hard-to-find brands, such as cult skincare creators The Ordinary, the environmentally-friendly Face Halo, Korea’s Tony Moly, cleansing tool FOREO, Alpha H’s potent active formulas and Australia-made Eco Tan.
Look a little further and you’ll find beauty gifting heaven, with soaps and candles from Wavertree London, candles from Palm Beach and ECOYA, hand creams and soaps from MOR, aroma diffusers and essential oils.
“This is a new concept for MYER Beauty, where there are many mini-shops within the shop,” explains Lee Dougan, Store Manager for MYER Westfield Belconnen. “In terms of personal care shopping, this is phenomenal—not just in terms of the layout, but the experience itself.”
“An emporium of everything you want is right here, from bath and body to beauty, face masks and fragrances.”
Then, there’s fashion. Right next to the Beauty Emporium, you’ll find an extensive collection of brands curated especially for MYER’s discerning shoppers. From the perfect Christmas party dress from Seed or Forever New to summer essentials from French Connection UK, the options are vast—and all at your fingertips.
“We’ve managed to secure some incredible brands and we have a massive new shoe section,” says Lee, adding that the new third floor men’s section is “equally strong” with brand such as Ralph Lauren, French Connection, Marcs, R.M. Williams and Rodd and Gunn, all “powerhouse brands that have come into the store because they believe in this new store and what we can deliver here.”
Last—but certainly not least—sharing space with this powerhouse mens’ collection on the third level is MYER’s famous Giftorium.
Offering the classic range of decadent tree ornaments, gift wrapping essentials and the perfect array of gifting goodness, it’s a must-do before 25 December.
Lee explains that this luxe refurbishment has been in the works for two years, with plenty of challenges thanks to COVID restrictions. However, he says that their pre-Christmas timing couldn’t be more perfect.
“For the community of Belconnen it‘s absolutely massive—it’s the pinnacle of the Centre—and we couldn’t be more excited and happy.”
Lee and his team will be celebrating their brand-new store with a Grand Reopening event on Saturday 5 December, with exclusive gifts, live music and plenty of special surprises on the day. Find out more here.
