The Scalp Spa: The global hair spa phenomenon has arrived in Canberra

Posted on

If you’re into beauty (especially Korean beauty trends) you’ve likely seen a new sort of treatment video emerge on your social media.

It’s usually of someone lying face up, shrouded in gentle steam as a halo-like stream of water passes over their hair. Their hair is then cleansed, scrubbed, treated and conditioned, ending in a decadent blow dry.

Welcome to the world of hair spas, the treatment you likely didn’t know you needed (or wanted) until now. Or perhaps if, like me, you’re someone whose favourite part of a salon visit is the hair wash, you’ve been waiting for this treatment your entire life.

First starting in Korea (home of the multi-step skincare routine), hair and scalp spa services are a must-do when visiting the country and now, you can try one right here in Canberra when Sydney’s The Scalp Spa opens its first ACT location in Braddon tomorrow.

Specialising in ‘Scalpials’ (yes, that’s a facial for your scalp), The Scalp Spa’s signature treatments focus on holistic hair health and growth and can help with conditions such as excess oil, dandruff, scalp acne and dermatitis.

Those who love watching hair spa videos that start with an up close and personal look at people’s scalps using a camera and light (just me?) you’ll be pleased to know The Scalp Spa offers these too.

The grand opening is from 11 am to 1 pm tomorrow, Saturday 2 March, and promises gift bags, vouchers, samples, scalp analyses, a DJ, food and drinks and more! Plus attendees will have first preference to book in their treatments.

You can find The Scalp Spa at G01 1 Elouera Street, Braddon, in the Midnight Building, facing Northbourne Avenue.
