Mila Meets Koda: The stylish dog owner’s best friend

Think finding a fashionable and functional dog accessory is im-paw-sible?

Canberra’s very own pet brand Mila Meets Koda is here to change that.

Like many dog owners, Canberra’s Maigan Fowler had a ruff (get it?) time finding a balance between practical dog accessories that were stylish, so she took matters into her own hands and created Mila Meets Koda.

“I couldn’t find the right sort of treat bag to train my puppy Mila that would go with any outfit. I would go to puppy school sometimes in my work clothes, sometimes in my active or jeans and everything that I went to buy was ugly. So, I decided to create my own beautiful treat bag that would go with any outfit,” explains Maigan.

Named after Maigan’s two dogs and featuring luxury vegan leather Mila meets Koda, the dog accessory company launched in 2020 to combine fashion and function

“Definitely a big thing, and big value of mine, is that anything that I use is cruelty-free. It is a product for animals so I couldn’t imagine using animal-based products,” explains Maigan.

Mila Meets Koda currently features four main collections (which includes a vegan-leather poop bag holder in multiple colours—yes really), but that number is growing with the launch of the Varsity Collection featuring Molly the tennis ball holder.

“My staffy Koda is ball-obsessed and I got sick of carrying her slobbery tennis ball around in my pocket, so I wanted to create something that was functional and easy but still stylish to solve that problem,” explains Maigan.

Gone will be the days of stuffing a wet tennis ball back into your pocket, with the ability to attach the tennis ball holder to your belt, bag, or even your dog’s lead. And the best part is you can even match it with one of Mila and Koda’s existing treat bags!

You can get your paws on the tennis ball holder from 7 pm on Wednesday 8 June on the Mila and Koda website or you can find them at the CBR Women’s ‘Winter Market’ on 18 June.
