O Christmas Tree! Let the hunt for the perfect tree begin!
With the much-anticipated arrival of December, it’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas and what’s more Christmassy than the aroma of fresh pine?
There is no denying that finding the perfect tree to take centre stage in our living rooms for a month-long performance is an annual challenge (one that we all experience). So, rather than popping into your local supermarket these holidays, we’ve rounded up some of Canberra’s top farms to buy a real tree that you can rock around this season – and let me tell you, there are some pine-looking ones out there!
Santa’s Shaped Christmas Tree Farm
Providing Christmas trees to the Canberra region for over 20 years, you can’t go past Gundaroo’s pine tree providers – Santa’s Shaped Christmas Tree Farm.
This family-run farm has been pruning and shaping its pines all year long for the festive season and can be found at both EPIC and the Woden Farmers’ Markets, the Old Bus Depot Markets and Bunnings Gungahlin.

Wallaroo Road Bespoke Christmas Trees
Located just outside Hall are Wallaroo’s growers of bespoke trees. And they say it best: “We grow bespoke trees to suit everyone; from perky to quirky and everything in between.”
Open every Saturday and Sunday throughout December or by appointment, drop by Wallaroo Road to enjoy the experience of choosing your own Christmas tree straight from the paddock.

Christmas Tree Keng
Drive 29km out of Canberra and you will find Bywong’s Christmas Tree Keng. As one of the closest Christmas tree farms to Canberra’s CBD, Christmas Tree Keng has been providing the Canberran region quality pines since 1987 and has once again opened its gates to the public for another festive season.
Open daily from 9 am until 6 pm all December, head down the Federal Highway to find the tree you’ve been pining for.

RSPCA ACT
Why not branch out this Christmas and purchase a pine with a purpose?
RSPCA ACT will be selling pine trees at their Weston Creek shelter in a range of shapes and sizes this festive season. At just $90.00 per tree, all profits raised will go towards caring for the abandoned animals spending the Holidays in their care.
Available Monday to Saturday, share the joy this Christmas with RSPCA.
