Skyfire set to light up the skies again in 2024!

After a four-year forced hiatus (thanks COVID), Skyfire will return to light up Canberra skies on Saturday 16 March 2024!
Since its debut in 1989, Skyfire has grown to become an iconic Canberra event with tens of thousands gathering around Lake Burley Griffin to watch the sky fill with colour choreographed to music on Hit104.7 & Mix106.3.

Essentially, the afternoon sees eager beavers staking out vantage spots around Lake Burley Griffin to assure them of a cracking vista of the pyrotechnic showcase. Many pack a picnic or snap up a snack from the food trucks positioned around the lake.
As dusk falls, you can expect live entertainment as the countdown to the fireworks begins. And then, the 20-minute show it’s all been leading up to: the light, colour and sonic booms of the fireworks working in tandem with the soundtrack played simultaneously on Hit 104.7 and Mix 106.3.
It’s set to be worth the wait!
