Dying to do something to celebrate Halloween? We’ve got you covered….

Canberra Zombie Walk

The annual Canberra Zombie Walk has taken place every year since 2014, and this year is looking to be bigger and better than ever! In association with The Brain Foundation and Reload eSports, the Canberra Zombie Walk will begin at Regatta Point and follow a course through the city to Garema Place, where a stack of undead fun will continue. If you want to get zombified before you head off for the walk, Reload Bar is also offering makeup artists in their bar from 11 am to help get you read.

Check out the Facebook page for more information.

Amp up your Halloween antici…..pation… by going to watch The Rocky Horror Picture Show at Limelight Cinemas. The horror/musical/comedy classic has a traditional audience participation aspect that includes throwing toast and rice at the big screen, and getting up and doing your own version of the Time Warp, so if you aren’t in the mood to party but are keen to get a little bit silly, then this is the event for you!

Mooseheads Halloween 2017

All roads lead to Mooseheads if you’re partying in Canberra, and the infamous bar is throwing an IT style Halloween party for those looking to float too. There will also be $5 Smirnoff Double Blacks, a fully transformed nightclub complete with special effects and scares galore and even prizes for best dressed on the night.

Day of the Dead Fiesta

If you want to keep the Halloween traditions going all week long (and why wouldn’t you?) then you will be pleased to know that the Ainslie Art Centre is hosting a Day of the Dead Fiesta in celebration of the Mexican tradition of Dia De Los Muertos. Seeped in Latin American flavour, the fiesta will include live music from local and interstate bands, DJs, art and cultural exhibitions, and even Lucha Libre – Mexican wrestling!

Boogong: A Creepy Carnival

Looking for something a little more family friendly? This year Googong’s free annual Halloween event is a seriously scary, twisted-circus-celebration!

Halloween fancy dress is what the event is all about, so dress up in something terrifying and bring the whole family along for an evening of monster, zombie and people watching, as well as food and entertainment. Plus, there’ll be a best fancy-dressed competition happening on Instagram and Facebook – on the day, upload and tag your picture #boogong2017 to enter and you could win one of five prize packs.

This year’s event is happening at a new location in Googong: in the paddock next to the abandoned-and-almost-certainly-haunted Googong Woolsheds. Follow the signs when you arrive in town. There’ll be a Spooky Big Top, live music, food vendors, roaming performers (including Crank the Clown), and fireworks show at 9pm.

Location: The Abandoned Googong Woolsheds, follow the signs from Googong Road, Googong | Entry: Free | Saturday 28 October | Time: 5-9pm
