BannerI love the idea of a lifestyle overhaul. Isn’t that what attracts us to juice cleanses, special diets, healthy eating plans, new workouts, transformation challenges, life and wellness coaches, and all things healthy? The idea of being the best version of ourselves – fit, healthy, glowing, happy, motivated and inspired.

In my own health and wellness journey, I’ve frequently sought out help. I believe that seeking advice from experts in fitness, nutrition and wellness is a big, positive step towards changing your life for the better.

What if I told you that you could get access to some of our city’s (and perhaps our country’s) most knowledgable and inspiring health experts, all under one roof?

Well, you can. It’s called the 2014 Get Active Expo, it’s happening this Saturday 15 November, and I am so very excited about it.

Twenty-six year old local, Jessica Read of Dynamic Events, is the driving force behind the expo, and with assistance of a range of sponsors from the Canberra businesses and organisations, she has pulled together a stellar program of exhibits, seminars, performances and challenges that are sure to motivate you, and get you well on the road to a healthy lifestyle overhaul.

Here’s a rundown of what’s on offer:

Fitness

Michelle Bridges. Need I say more. The iconic personal trainer is delivering the ‘Michelle Bridges Motivational Seminar’, courtesy of seminar sponsors FitSistas. There’ll will be an opportunity for a Meet & Greet after the fitness legend dishes her advice on nutrition, training and staying motivated (get 20% off tickets using the code: DYNAMIC)

There’ll also be a Weight Lifting Demo from the crew at Unbranded Strength, a Born to Move class courtesy of Les Mills, Self Defence Class by GKR Karate, Hooping 4 Kids from Hoopbeat, Strongman Demo 2 from Esteem Fitness Studio and more. Oh my.

Not to mention exhibitors including Higher Function Pilates, PT2U/Chase Crossfit, Heart Foundation Heartmoves, Succeed Overhaul, Brindabella Phsyical Culture Club, ACT Little Athletics, Brace Mixed Martial Arts, and many, many more.

Chat to the exhibitors, watch the demos, mingle with the fitness pros, and I guarantee you’re sure to find a fitness activity that’s for you.

Nutrition

Not only is nutritionist Kate Freeman our resident nutrition expert at HerCanberra, but she is also the genius behind Healthy Eating Hub. She’s presenting a Cooking Demo on 15 minute dinners, as well as a Packing Healthy Lunch Boxes talk. She’s also holding a presentation about Nutrition, manageing your appetite and sugar fravings, esating well for a busy lifestyle. If you’re interested in no-nonsense, fad free advice on eating wholesome food that nourishes your body, Kate should be first on your list.

Nutrition exhibitors not to miss include ASN, BioFlex, Monster Health Food, Nutrivolve and Healthy Coffee.

Mindset

Telomeres Repair Centre are presenting Why Telomeres Fitness is the key to health. Based on neurology, this seminar is sure to appeal to science nerds and health fanatics alike.

Meanwhile, Holistic Psychology are presenting Knowledge & Tools for a Healthier Mind & Healthier Body to achieve your personal best.

Be sure to stop by the exhibits from Change Coaching who specialise in wellness coaching, personal training and group fitness.

Gear

There will be no shortage of products on offer at the Expo. OnTheGo are the Official Apparel Supplier and have a fantastic range on offer. As the suppliers to a number of sports teams and athletes, your in safe hands.

Rockwear are also exhibiting, and they have an amazing range of workout gear including quality tights and sports bras, with high tech fabrics and flattering cuts.

Equipment suppliers like GymQuip, Sportsman’s Warehouse, Bronze Panda and Body Bike are key exhibitors, so if you’re more of a homebody than a gym bunny, make sure to check it out.

Beauty

For me, a big part of feeling your best is looking your best. The gorgeous Claire Daley – Arbonne Independent Consultant, Nutrimetic’s Janelle Tarrant and the glam folk at Tantric Tanning will be on hand to help you get your glow on and answer your beauty questions.
