Neighbourhood: Braidwood
Posted on
You’ve probably passed it a hundred times on the way to the coast. But it’s high time you gave Braidwood a second look.
It’s the historic country town en route to the Canberran holiday hotspot of the south coast, but Braidwood is much more than just a pitstop.
This summer, the whole community of Braidwood has been massively affected by the recent devastating bushfires—many small businesses reliant on tourist trade which has been drastically reduced due to road closures.
And while the Kings Highway remains closed between Braidwood and Nelligen, the road leading to the town isn’t impacted.
So if you’re looking for something to do during the lazy days between Christmas and New Year’s, consider a day trip to Braidwood to support our country neighbour.
Here’s where to eat, drink, shop and stay.
