One might insist on a white-tablecloth French bistro, while another just wants a 300g pub steak and a clear line of sight to the footy. Whatever their style, Canberra’s food scene is putting on a masterclass for Father’s Day this year.

The carnivore dad
Capitol Bar & Grill
Premium cuts and ice-cold beers. What’s not to love? This Father’s Day Capitol Bar & Grill is pulling out all the stops with a flame-fuelled feast.
The all-you-can-eat spread will go big on premium cuts fresh from the flame, including Wagyu skirt, whole sirloins, lamb rumps and roasted whole chooks. Add in sides like Mum’s potato salad and slaw and dessert – which includes sticky date pudding and pavlova – and he’ll have to loosen the belt a notch.
There will also be cold beers and games, with prizes from BentSpoke Brewing Co., and QT Canberra!
Cost: $99 per adult, $39 per child and free for kids under two.

The Inn
Home to Canberra’s only Asado Grill, head to The Inn for a special Father’s Day lunch that will include a few good bottles on the table and a menu made for celebrating. They’ll be serving a choice of two set menus on the day, with lunch seatings from 12 pm or 2 pm.

Chifley’s Bar & Grill
With a menu featuring pulled beer-braised beef sliders, grilled corn on the cob, and rich rum chocolate mousse, this is one delicious way to spend Father’s Day. Make sure to try the garlic and rosemary lamb loin chops and the decadent Biscoff crème brûlée, and make a stop at the live BBQ chef station.
Plus, on arrival, Dad will enjoy a complimentary beer, while Mum will be welcomed with a refreshing cider. Kids are catered for too, with their own menu and a fun activity pack to keep them entertained!

Wine Room
Make Dad feel special this Father’s Day with bottomless drinks and a three-course set menu at Wine Room.
Along with tap beers, wines by the glass and some selected cocktails, he’ll indulge in 400g Wagyu MB5+ with beef jus and chimichurri, patatas bravas with miso butter and cheesecake brûlée with hazelnut.

This Father’s Day, INKA is changing things up with four special editions to their menu created just for the day. There are plenty of options for those looking for something delicious in the city. Kinn Thai brings bold, authentic Thai flavours, while Hunter and Barrel is perfect for steak lovers.
7 Cutz Steakhouse offers a vibrant selection of steaks and ribs in a premium dining atmosphere, while Fricken serves up crispy fried chicken for something a bit more casual. Tiger Lane has four distinctive restaurants and bars and as for dessert? You can’t go past the newly opened Yo-Bar on Bunda Street.
