Scullin’s Sweet Bones opens today and give us all the cinnabons please

Craving some organic sweet treats and delicious vegan food? Get excited–Sweet Bones has opened the doors to another café and bakery! This time, in Scullin.
Known for their delicious menu options and oh-so-cool vibe, the Canberra café and bakery changed the face of food in the capital in 2012 with its hand-crafted vegan menu – and with a cult following for their cinnabons alone, the opening of their new northside location could not have come at a better time.
Making its debut at the Scullin shops from 7 am to 4 pm today, co-owner Emily Brindley says the new store will be offering a limited menu during their soft opening, but will soon boast Sweet Bones’ iconic menu items like the Smashed Avo Toast and The Notorious B.I.G with some hot new additions.

While a second café was never on their radar after buying in Scullin in 2018, Emily and her husband Russell became incredibly involved in the community, beginning Scullin Traders with the simple goal of revamping the local shops.
After Scullin Traders had to shut their doors due to COVID-19 restrictions, the opportunity to open a new café in the prime location suddenly presented itself and the duo decided to jump at the chance. The duo hopes Sweet Bones Scullin will continue to bring new life to the shops.
“It really was a community effort,” says Emily.
“There’s been a few people who have really been working hard behind the scenes to revitalise the shop…we have two really beautiful murals there and there’s such community involvement with the shops.”
As Emily and Russell get ready to treat Scullin to sweet treats with their iconic funky flair, all we can say is grab your stretchy pants: you’ll need them.
