Looking for a new location to wet your whistle? An artisanal bar is popping up in the heart of the city this September.

And with Le Cheeserie, Ravensworth Wines & Capital Brewing Co. joining forces at this drinking destination, the dress code is “stretchy pants required”.

Hosted by the Canberra Museum and Gallery (CMAG) from Saturday 7 September (that’s this Saturday if you weren’t already excited), and running until the end of the month, the Civic Pop-Up bar offers an intimate celebration of local craftsmanship.

Open every Thursday to Sunday to help you relax after a long week or celebrate the weekend in style, some of Canberra’s finest artisanal producers are coming together to tickle your tastebuds with their products – we’re talking premium wines from Ravensworth Wines, craft beers from Capital Brewing Co., and artisanal cheeses from Le Cheeserie.

Add in live music and entertainment on weekends, and we’re predicting that the Civic Pop-Up Bar might just be the coolest catch-up spot this spring.

But onto what you really want to know – the culinary goodness in store. Along with locally sourced (and phenomenal) cheese, Le Cheeserie will also be offering their famous toasties – which ooze with Australian and international cheeses – as well as decadent cheese boards and a tantalising blue cheese cone.

Consider yourself something of a cheese connoisseur?  You’re in luck – because for two nights on Saturday 14 and 21 September, Le Cheeserie will also be hosting special Raclette nights to bring a taste of France with mouth-watering fromage. Traditionally served with cured meats, boiled potatoes, pickled onions, and cornichons, it’s delicious, decadent, and the perfect way to spend a Saturday night.

There to help you wash down all of the cheesy goodness, Ravensworth Wines and Capital Brewing Co. will also be there to serve their delectable drops – and what sounds better than a glass of wine or cold beer paired with a gooey cheese toastie?

Taking it up a level on Saturdays from 9.45 pm, live music lovers can look forward to Knuckle Down Brass Band, The Dap-Tone Dandies, and Chasing Chet as they bring a New Orleans-style street party to Civic Square, playing Jazz music that will have everyone up and dancing the night away.

No reservations are required, and it is recommended you go hungry, cause this pop-up bar isn’t about moderation – it’s all about indulging in Canberra’s finest artisan offerings.

Like we said: stretchy pants required.
