Fairy tales, freaks and mud-slick beats come to Canberra in the form of a Shrek Rave

What is a Shrek Rave (or Shrave) you might ask? Exactly what it sounds like.

On Saturday 16 May, The Baso is transforming into Shrek’s swamp for the ultimate party that will have attendees feel like they’re somewhere far, far away from Canberra.

There will be free green glow sticks, green glitter, and (this is a direct quote) “cooked Shrek visuals”.

Playing hits from Shrek (as well as some Rave bangers), who doesn’t love the idea of getting down on the dance floor to I’m A Believer at full blast? And if that’s not enough to get you in the party mood, there will also be themed drinks on the night: the Duloc Drop, Shreks On The Beach and Far Far Away Fizz.

We’ll raise a glass to that.

Add in some Shrek-themed giveaways and we’ll be there faster than you can say “Do you know the Muffin Man?”

Kicking off at 8 pm and keeping the fairy tales vibes going until after midnight, even the biggest of ogres won’t be able to resist this. Grab the Donkey (or Puss in Boots) to your Shrek and get ready for an unforgettable night.

Just don’t act like a Farquaad.

And for the morning after? After staying up late and swapping stories, personally, we’ll be making waffles. And maybe some parfait. Everybody likes parfait.
