Walking down the street, I must say I’m pretty impressed with how far men have come in taking pride of their personal appearance. Men today are more likely to have a skincare routine and hair product in the medicine cabinet than ever before and I love it.

How can you pass up a guy that looks and smells so good?

But looking good isn’t just about the clean-cut look, men are embracing the well-kept beard (apparently they can learn about beardology too), long hair and smooth skin. Finally, it seems that for the first time ever men get why women put so much effort into their beauty routine…and realising that maybe healthy skin and neat and tidy beards are worth the effort.

While they’ve come to appreciate the effort, it does comes at a cost but they seem to appreciate the price tag that comes with ‘keeping up appearances’ too. Ladies, you know how going to a hairdresser is a super relaxing and totally indulgent affair? It can be for men too! I had my partner test out new barbershop The Cock and Crown and now he get’s why I love going to the hairdresser. Tim and Craig create a typical bloke’s space with the cricket on the radio and beer in the fridge for when you arrive. 

You can buy vouchers for a cut, shave or beard tidy. Maybe you could pick him up some Mo Wax to pop into his Christmas stocking too?

Day Spa for Men

Spas aren’t just for the ladies! Canberra Day Spa also specialises in providing services for men to not only primp and pluck but also to relax! I’ve perused the menu and I’m adding the Men’s Executive Pack to my list to get the boyfriend this Christmas. Who would turn down a skin facial and back massage? Or maybe he’s in need of a little man-scaping before you hit the beach this summer? Shh, we won’t tell!
