Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net.
Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team’s court under organised rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since 1964.
Clubs
Capital Volleyball League (formerly ‘State League’) is VACT’s highest level of competition comprising of 2 divisions, Premier and Division 1, for both Men and Women. The competition is held on Sunday afternoons at the Lyneham Hockey Centre.
Open League is VACT’s second tier competition and provides players with competitive game play but in a less serious environment than CVL. Open League consists of multiple divisions in Men’s, Women’s and Mixed.
VACT’s Recreational competitions are for all players looking to participate in a fun, well run social competition. These mixed gender competitions are designed to meet your exercise and team competition needs at a fun recreational level.
Recreational Beach Leagues provide players with the opportunity to participate in a quality, social and fun competition. All competitions are held at the Lyneham Beach Facility from October to March.
The Summer Indoor competition is a modified version of indoor volleyball. The competition varies from regular indoor volleyball and has been designed to maximise participation in a fun, social environment.
