Yoga

Posted on

Yoga is a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices based on balance and harmony of body and mind.

Yoga cultivates health and wellbeing (physical, emotional, mental and social) through the regular practice of a range of many different techniques, including postures and movement, breath awareness and breathing exercises, relaxation and concentration, self-inquiry and meditation.

It is usually practiced on yoga mats, chairs or the floor. Meditation is an integral part of yoga, with postures, movements and stretches intertwined with breathing exercises.

There are many different styles of yoga, practiced in different ways and with different goals for the student. Some of the more popular include Ashtanga, Bikram, Hatha, Restorative, Vinyasa (or Power), and Yin.
