Are you the fastest puzzler in the ACT? The Jigsaw Puzzle Championships is your chance to prove it

Does the thought of correctly placing each jigsaw piece give your brain a tiny dopamine hit? Does running your hands over a finished puzzle give you a thrill? Could you be the fastest puzzler in the ACT?

Here’s an event that will give puzzlers some pleasure – in October the Australian Jigsaw Puzzle Association is hosting the ACT Jigsaw Puzzle State Competition at Exhibition Park.

It’s the missing piece you didn’t know you needed (or couldn’t find under your lounge).

Taking place on Saturday 19 October from 9 am until 5 pm, jigsaw puzzle enthusiasts of all ages and abilities are invited to go head-to-head to compete for the title of the fastest puzzler in the ACT.

Running two divisions – individuals and pairs – across the day, participants will receive the same 500-piece puzzle to be completed in the shortest amount of time. There’s no experience necessary, but there are a few rules.

Individuals competing in the Jigsaw Puzzle Competition will be given a three-hour time limit, while pairs will be given two hours. Children are welcome to attend, but they must be accompanied by an adult, and all members of a pair or team must reside in the ACT to get an official ranking.

And if you’re extra competitive, you can register for both divisions for a full day of puzzling.

As for the prizes? Compete for first, second, or third place, as well as spot and raffle prizes – and to make it extra fun, you’re also encouraged to dress up or have a theme!
