Bringing a Supersmile to your face with a community open day

Posted on

We don’t often associate a trip to the orthodontist with fun games and tasty snacks, but Supersmile Orthodontist Aranda is throwing a little bit of a party for its Community Open Day on Saturday.

Whether you’re curious about orthodontics or just want to enjoy a day out with family and friends, there’s something for everyone, including a coffee van, sausage sizzle and lawn games, as well as friendly tours of the clinic, showing all the fun and behind-the-scenes stuff, including how to take a 3D scan.

Come grab a freshly brewed coffee to start your day, fill up with a sausage and tour the new Aranda practice to see Supersmile’s state-of-the-art facilities.

Experienced orthodontist Dr Steve Papas says it’s an opportunity to demystify the process of orthodontic treatment, particularly useful for families with kids.

“We warmly invite the community to walk through our practice and explore our treatment areas. Our friendly staff will be available to answer any questions and provide demonstrations of our processes. Our orthodontists will be available to discuss orthodontic treatments and answer common questions including what age is best for children to see an orthodontist.”

Dr Pappas says “It’s understandable that some kids and parents might feel apprehensive about visiting an orthodontist, especially if they’ve had negative experiences in the past. However, orthodontic appointments are typically brief, regular, and positive, helping to reduce general dental anxiety over time. The process of applying orthodontic brackets is completely painless, as they are simply glued to the surface of the teeth.

“We also use digital scans to create 3D models, eliminating the need for traditional impressions. Orthodontics is so common that most patients have family members or friends who are already undergoing treatment, so they’re often familiar with the process and know that an orthodontic clinic isn’t a scary place. In fact, the first visit often involves just a simple mirror exam, making it a gentle introduction to treatment.”

The Community Open Day was not only a fun and free event, but a valuable chance to meet the team and see first-hand the efforts the practice has gone to make the experience relaxing and friendly

“Our staff take great pride in creating a welcoming, friendly environment for all our patients. We genuinely enjoy interacting with families and showing how comfortable and positive an orthodontic experience can be,” says Dr Pappas.

“We’re always eager to demonstrate not only our expertise but also the warmth and care we bring to every visit. Whether it’s answering questions, giving tours, or just offering a smile, we’re here to ensure that everyone feels at ease.”
