They’ve burst out of New Acton Precinct and really ‘taken off’ in their new digs…
Don’t have plans for tonight?
Kicking off at 6:30 pm for a 7 pm start, Treehouse Bar will host 10 beautiful rescue and ambassador dogs from Greyhound Connections, a foundation dedicated to finding forever homes for retired and non-racing greyhounds.
While the event doesn’t allow you to BYO doggo, the cute puppers will be roaming free in the bar for you to meet, play with and be entertained by.
“There is always lots of laughter because dogs are so unpredictable – they create all of the entertainment for the night,” says director of the event, Tatum Brown. Tatum is also the creator of the ever-popular Dating with Dogs, and says that she has a passion for bringing people together.
“We hosted dating with dogs and just found that people were not only finding potential partners but also extending their social group. So it’s just about bringing like-minded people together in a really cool and unique environment.”
For $25 per person, you’ll be greeted with a complimentary cocktail, light canapés and a whole bunch of fellow dog-lovers to mingle with. Tickets are limited though, so we suggest you get in quick to snatch one up, with a portion of ticket sales going to Greyhound Connections so they can continue the great work they do.
Tatum says The Social Dog Company gets a range of different people attending their events, but they have two things in common; they are lovely and they LOVE dogs.
“We get people who have moved from interstate and are looking to meet new people but then we also get a lot of people who can’t have dogs where they live,” she says.
So buy a ticket, enjoy a complimentary doggo inspired cocktail as well as some light canapés and fuss over some super cute greyhounds. Pretty simple if you ask us.
Busy tonight? Don’t stress – because ticket sales have been so popular, organisers have organised a second event, happening Thursday 8 November.
