Five activities for Canberra mums worth getting out of the house for
Posted on
Getting out with a bub isn’t always easy – but it can be worth it.
From relaxed coffee catch-ups to baby-friendly workouts and cinema sessions, here are five Canberra activities designed with mums (and their little ones) in mind.
The Little Capsule Co.’s Mamma Mingle
Created to ease the mental load, break down social isolation, and offer meaningful support for mothers at every stage, this is a weekly coffee catch-up where you (and your baby) can connect with others.
Now, this isn’t a playgroup – the focus here stays on mum – but that doesn’t mean your little one won’t benefit from meeting new people while you have a coffee and a chat. Keep an eye out to see when they’re meeting next.

Dendy Baby Daze
Did you know that Dendy hosts baby-friendly screenings? Every Thursday morning, Baby Daze sessions are tailored to meet the needs of parents and carers looking after a little one, offering dimmed lights and reduced sound levels.
Priced at $11 for a standard session and $16 for a seat in the Premium Lounge, children under five receive free admission, so you can catch up on the latest big release in peace.

Kangatraining
Less about exercise and more about connection, Kangatraining is a unique babywearing fitness program designed so you can literally work out with your baby. It combines cardio and strength training and is designed for all mothers cleared to exercise postpartum, regardless of fitness experience.
With two classes currently held in Canberra on Tuesdays, choose between Kangatraining (LIIT-style workout combining gentle cardio) and KangaTrail (a babywearing trail walk incorporating strength exercises).

Mums & Bubs Basketball
This is a fun and supportive activity hosted by Basketball ACT. Designed for new mums to stay active, build confidence, and connect with others, you can keep your little one close by while you enjoy the low-impact session.
No prior experience is needed, babies are welcome courtside, and after each session, you can enjoy complimentary coffee and morning tea with fellow mums.
