Where to spend New Year’s Eve 2020 in Canberra

Posted on

Finally, a chance to say see ya later to 2020—and hopefully leave at least some elements of the last 12 months behind.

While physical distancing remains a top priority for Canberra’s restaurants, bars and venues, there are still a variety of COVID-safe celebrations happening across Canberra.

Here’s a taste of what you can book (and yes, you really, really do want to book this year) for New Year’s Eve 2020 in Canberra

TOAST at Beirut Bunker Bar (Civic)

If you have a fancy for kick-ass cocktails, cracking music, and a super-friendly Parisian meets Middle Eastern vibe, make a B-line for the Beirut Bunker Bar this New Year’s Eve.

Expect to enjoy the friendliest, tastiest cocktails in town to a soundtrack of funky deep house and disco dance tunes and immerse yourself in a positive space that’s about serving the fantastic possibilities of the future, one cocktail at a time.

Book your seat now to bypass the crowds and TOAST to 2021 (and Beirut Bunker Bar owner Soumi’s 32nd birthday) in the heart of Garema Place.

Baobly New Year at Super Bao (Dickson)

Bring in the new year with a delicious Baobly New Year set menu at Dickson’s Super Bao.

Dig into a Bao Trio Combo, Tuna Tataki,  Lobster Spring Rolls, Popcorn Chicken, Espresso Rum Pork Short Rib or Lemon Pepper Soft Shell Crab and Steamed Chinese Broccoli. Delicious.

Wash it all down and charge your glass to the new year with two glasses of Prosecco included in the menu, all from just $98 for two people.

Available 28 Dec 2020 – 10 Jan 2020 (closed on 1 Jan 2021) | Set menu only available for dinner, bookings essential via superbao.com.au

Come FLY beer with me at BentSpoke (Braddon)

Join the BentSpoke crew this New Year’s Eve for a celebration of holidays and all things aeronautical in this time of travel bans and border restrictions. Watch the sunset on 2020 and board your flight to 2021.

More information and a full itinerary will be announced closer to the date, however, what we can tell you is that it’ll be a private, themed event with costumes encouraged, in the theme of your favourite overseas destination!

All tickets will be inclusive of a First Class food and drink package, with booking required. Please see your flight beer stewards before entering the venue for an important (COVID) safety demonstration.

Thursday 31 December, 7 pm onwards | See bentspokebrewing.com.au to the date for more information, call (02) 6257 5220 or email lovebeer@bentspokebrewing.com.au

Music In The Vines at Contentious Character (Wamboin)
