She’s conquered France as a TV host and style icon and now has her sights…
Rev your engines and pack your hand sanitiser, Canberra—our first physically-distanced party has been announced.
Kicking off from 20-30 August, The Parking Lot Social will be the perfect physically-distanced party for our COVID-restricted times—taking the form of an old fashioned drive-in.
A “supersized, multi-sensory event”, Parking Lot Social guests will drive up to greet a “16-metre-tall fire hydrant that shoots rainbows”, flanked by two giant gorillas and two 12-metre screens. Phew.
With capacity for 250 “carloads” of attendees, each evening will have a different party program, which will cover activities and attractions like ‘Car-A-Oke,’ silent discos, live bands, interactive trivia and bingo games, stand-up comedians and movie nights.
There will also be food and drink available on-site and for families with little ones, ‘Social Kids’ events will offer content for younger viewers with earlier start times.
With The Parking Lot Social touring all mainland state capitals from July, we’re curious to see how Australia’s first en-masse physically-distanced party goes.
As the venue is also yet to be announced, we’re also curious as to where a party like this could be held in Canberra, with so few places large enough for 250 cars…
