Friendship bracelet making with your dog, anyone? A Taylor Swift-themed Paws Party is happening this Sunday
Posted on
Just when you thought Taylor-mania was over, Haig Park announced that they’re in their ‘Dog Era’ – and honestly? It’s what our wildest dreams are made of.
Following the smash hit success of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Australia (currently making its way around Europe), the City Renewal Authority is calling for locals to drop everything now, grab their four-legged friend, and head to Haig Park on Sunday 28 July for a massive T-Swizzle-themed dog party.
Why? Because on Tuesday 30 July it’s International Friendship Day, and what better way to celebrate with your fur-ever friend than by making friendship bracelets and listening to Tay-Tay’s top hits?
And yes, we know that Taylor is a cat lover – but we also know she’d appreciate other animals joining in on the hype, especially if they’re called something creative like Tim McPaw (and you’re welcome for that genius dog name).
Kicking off at 11 am, highlights of Paws Party – Haig Park’s Version includes a friendship bracelet-making station where you can make your friendship bracelets or collars to exchange (if you want) with other Swifites, a DJ playing non-stop music so you can shake it off with your pooch, and a photography station, complete with shimmery backdrops.
There are about 30 potential jokes about it being a ‘Bejewelled’ booth, but I’ll hold myself back – because you get the idea.
There will also be prizes for the best-dressed dogs with extra credit for the owners who also dress up – giving you the perfect excuse to pull out the outfit you wore (or were hoping to wear – RIP to those who didn’t get tickets during The Great War to see Tay-Tay in the flesh) to the tour.
For the dogs, we’re envisioning mini cowboy hats, sparkly outfits, and maybe even tiny cardigans. And with 11 Eras to choose from (including The Tortured Poets Department), there’s plenty of inspiration in Taylor’s back catalogue.
It’s the best bits of the Eras Tour, with the bonus of having your dog right there with you. Are you ready for it, Canberra?
