Get some retail therapy at the Birdsnest Pop Up

Cooma-based women’s fashion retailer birdsnest (feature image) is bringing a pop-up store to Canberra for four days only!

Nesting at Sanctuary in Narrabundah, the birdsnest team will be set up with a curated selection of new season styles from their 10 in house labels. While their fashion parades and special events are sold out, there’s plenty of space for walk-ins!

Journey back in time to discover the wonders of ancient Egypt

This is a must-see exhibition at the National Museum of Australia. Featuring over 220 objects from the Dutch National Museum of Antiquities (Rijksmuseum van Oudheden), you’ll learn all about the lifestyles of the ancient Egyptians, their religion and society, their creativity, and their belief in an afterlife where they hoped to live for eternity.

Learn the secrets to perfect gnocchi

If you’ve ever wondered how chefs get their gnocchi so light and fluffy, 10 Yards’ Gnocchi Night is for you. And after they’ve shown you how to make it, they’ll cook you a delicious dinner. All washed down with paired local wines and craft beers.

This is a hands-on cooking class, but also a social event. It is interactive, so you’ll have a chance to ask as many questions as you like and engage with other participants. All equipment will be provided – you just need to bring your fancy pants and your enthusiasm.

This workshop will be held on the Aranda Long Table with only a limited number of tickets available. There will be a minimum number of participants required for the workshop to proceed. Bookings essential.

Calling all thrill seekers, this one is for you. Customised shipping containers in Civic Square are home to two very different sensory experiences.

Sitting at the nexus of technology and theatre, FLIGHT takes you on a deeply hypnotic journey that challenges your sense of what is real, and what is imagined through two worlds, two realities and two outcomes to your journey.

SÉANCE is an intense sonic performance that explores the psychology of a group of people who have been bombarded with suggestible material. In complete darkness, your senses become vulnerable to persuasion. You’ll need to proceed with an open mind.

See Vincent Namatjira: Australia in Colour

This exhibition of acclaimed Western Aranda artist Vincent Namatjira, Vincent Namatjira: Australia in Colour, charts the artist’s career, revealing the power of his painting and the potency of his words. Showcasing Namatjira’s burgeoning artistic practice, this major exhibition brings together paintings, works on paper and moving image from public and private collections nationwide, the exhibition will also feature a selection of watercolours from the national collection by the artist’s great-grandfather and critically acclaimed Western Arranda artist, Albert Namatjira.

Queer Screen is bringing their 31st Mardi Gras Film Festival to Canberra! From Wednesday 3 until Saturday 6 April, The National Film and Sound Archive will be home to MGFF24 highlights, including the Audience Award winner for best narrative feature, ‘Femme’. Visit The Handmade Market

A change of season means it’s time to welcome back Canberra’s favourite award-winning indoor event. Back for autumn to showcase 260+ Australian designers and producers, at The Handmade Market you’ll discover some unique Australian-made items –from fashion to ceramics, handcrafted furniture, children’s items, original artworks, jewellery, and accessories along with an indoor gourmet food and wine pavilion! Entry to the market is free, however, they do have charity door greeters collecting donations if you wish to donate. All money collected goes to those in need in the ACT region,
