Tacos, tunes, tinnies, and trinkets—say hello to the Food Co-op Night Markets

It’s one of Canberra’s crunchiest locations, offering the perfect mix of eco-friendly and holistic (with a hint of hippie-like panache) local, organic, unpackaged, fair trade, and affordable food for all.
But now The Food Co-op is going beyond its usual offerings as a multi-hyphenate hub (think: community-owned-and-run bulk grocery store, café, and events venue) hosting its very first night markets complete with tacos, tunes, tinnies, and trinkets.
That’s right—bringing you the best of local products after dark, on Thursday 16 February you can head along to Australia’s oldest food cooperative for a night dedicated to food, fun, and plenty of entertainment.
Because along with local drinks, and food (as well as a basketball hoop so you can live out your NBA fantasies), there will also be a selection of Canberra artists and artisans selling their wares—including Handmade by Zoe Campbell, Steel Dynasty Books, Nat Sniffs Henna and more.
And if that’s not enough, Tarot by Poirot will also be there to tell you your fortune (hint: the future includes a second helping of vegan tacos).
Along with live music from Radio De Sol, Mirror Mirror, Stella Eve, Grace Notes, Alex & Yona, and Jonah Myers, (as well as poetry from Cham Zhi Yi), The Food Co-op Night Markets promise to be a one-stop-shop for all your organic, creative and foodie desires.
