The Private Bin is reopening in Canberra – and it’s for one night only

There are few Canberra nightclubs as legendary as the Private Bin.

Famous for its disco (and sticky) floor, classic cocktails, and vibrant atmosphere, many locals have fond – and hazy – memories of a night out at the Bin.

Now, you’ll be able to relive those memories. Just in time for the Canberra Day long weekend, Verity Lane is throwing a Private Bin Throwback Party and bringing back a piece of Canberra nightlife history.

Inviting old and new friends to celebrate on Saturday 7 March – and following the sold-out event last year – the Private Bin Throwback Party 2.0 will be leaning full-tilt into the nostalgia of the Sydney Building. Taking over the Louie Louie stage, the night features two DJ sets, starting with classic 80s anthems before moving seamlessly into 90s bangers; the two defining eras of the Private Bin dancefloor.

There will also be throwback-inspired cocktail specials on offer throughout the night (yes, including B52s and CS Cowboys), as well as the possibility of a sore head the next day.

And while drinks aren’t quite as cheap as they used to be, we promise they’ll taste just as good.

The best part? It all kicks off at 7 pm and runs until midnight, so you can relive the glory days without the commitment of a traditional late-night club crawl.

With only 250 tickets available and following the success of last year’s event, you’ll want to grab that credit card to ensure you can get in on the night. A rare chance to experience (or re-experience) the spirit of one of Canberra’s most legendary nights out, you don’t want to be sitting outside on the curb for this one.
