Head’s up, Hollanov shippers! Heated Rivalry events are coming to Canberra

Posted on

It’s the show that broke the internet – a queer Canadian sports romance television series based on Rachel Reid’s Game Changers novel series. And now the Heated Rivalry frenzy is skating into Canberra.

Following two rival professional ice hockey players, Canadian Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Russian Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie) – whose on-ice animosity conceals a passionate, secret romance – the six-part show has become something of a global sensation thanks to its sexy, steamy and very smutty storyline.

Seriously, this is one show you probably shouldn’t talk about around the water cooler at work.

And as the world goes feral for two fictional gay hockey stars, you can find fellow Heated Rivalry fans at two special events coming to Canberra. Here’s what you need to know.

The Wednesday Night Club: Heated Rivalry Watch Party – Part One

Indulge in some pop culture and watch (or rewatch) Heated Rivalry on a big screen with some new faces at the Canadian-themed Kodiak Bar on Wednesday 21 January from 6–9 pm.

The Wednesday Night Club will be watching episodes 1-3 of Heated Rivalry, the book-to-TV adaptation of Rachel Reid’s MM ice hockey romance, with drinks and food will be available for purchase at the bar, including a Heated Rivalry cocktail.

Entry is just $5 – go alone or take a fellow fan!

Club Hollanov at The Baso

Things are heating up at The Baso on Friday 30 January with the news that Superficial’s Heated Rivalry appreciation party will be transforming the venue into Club Hollanov.

That’s right, we’re talking DJs spinning your favourite songs from the show, Heated Rivalry visuals, themed drinks and Hollanov masks for the first people through the doors.

Also playing all your fave 00s/10s hits and pop anthems, tickets are going to sell faster than you can say “Ya tebya lyublyu.”

Oh, and they’ll also be playing the Google Drive Edit. Did the Earth just shake or was that fans everywhere losing their minds?

Grab your tickets here.
