It’s that time of year again – truffles have taken over the city.
A seasonal highlight for local foodies every winter, from mid-June until August you’ll find an abundance of truffle-themed events and dishes, showcasing the versatility (and deliciousness) of our favourite fungus.
Here’s where to get your truffle fix in Canberra this winter – and as more menus and events are announced, keep an eye out to see where else you can find this black gold.
Beltana Farm (Pialligo)
Home to a mouth-watering truffle and shortbread schnapps, Beltana Farm is a truffle lover’s paradise – and they’re hosting a range of unmissable events this winter.
Located on a truffle farm (so truffles can literally be found just outside the back door), they’ll be kicking off the season with their After Dark Truffle Fest on Friday 20 June. Featuring fire pits, outdoor BBQ canapes and more, it’s a delicious insight into the world of truffles.
Then, until August, you can book into guided truffle hunts, cooking masterclasses and more. Be sure to visit their website to see what’s happening and to snag yourself a spot!

Mount Majura Vineyard (Majura)
There’s nothing like pairing truffles with wine, and Mount Majura Vineyard always knows how to do it well. Partnering with The Truffle Farm throughout winter, they’re hosting truffle-infused tastings – and honestly, what sounds better than sitting back and enjoying a triple-cream brie-style cheese while sipping on three matched wines? You haven’t experienced truffles in Canberra until you’ve been to The Truffle Farm. Providing the quintessential truffle experience, here they host three signature events during the winter months. From hunting truffles with the dogs to an infused brunch or lunch (depending on what you would prefer), you can learn about the history of the farm while enjoying some paddock-to-plate creations.

Located on The Truffle Farm, for those looking for a more casual truffle experience that doesn’t skip the flavour, here you can pick up a range of comforting truffle-infused dishes – perfect for a cold day. Think brisket burgers, cheeseburgers, smoked chicken tacos, jaffles and chips, all loaded with truffle straight from the farm.

It’s the fusion you didn’t know you needed: fine-dining Japanese paired with truffles. Hosting a special showcase of all things truffle, everyone is trufflin’ at the Crowne Plaza this winter. From Thursday 3 July until Saturday 16 August, you can attend a range of events that promise plenty of winter fun (and flavour).
At the Christmas in July Markets – taking place from Thursday 3 until Sunday 6 July – you can treat yourself to their signature truffle sausage sandwiches and truffle toasties, while on Friday 18 July and Saturday 16 August, they’re hosting an exclusive truffle degustation.

Carlotta is playing host to An Evening of Truffles on Tuesday 8 July and this is one event you’ll want to book ahead for. Featuring truffles from local producer Brae Garden, this exclusive truffle menu (priced at $119 per person) features dishes such as Truffle Beef Carpaccio, a Spinach and Ricotta Gnudi in Chicken Jus and Truffle Butter, and even a truffle-topped take on the signature Tiramisù Carlotta. The Marion
For one night at The Marion, you can meet the makers of Mada Wines and Turella Truffle Farm, while trying some of Canberra’s exceptional local produce. For one night only, COMPA invites guests to celebrate truffle season with a four-course dinner hosted by Matt Moran, in collaboration with The Truffle Farm Canberra.
The menu ($125 pp) showcases local truffles at their peak, with dishes like grilled pecorino with truffle and honeycomb, ricotta tortellini in truffle butter, pasture-fed ribeye with truffled pepper sauce, and a white chocolate, rhubarb and truffle tart to finish. Enhance the experience with an optional wine pairing curated to complement each course.

This urban cellar door doesn’t play around when it comes to truffles. Serving up a five-course meal (with the option to add matched wines) on Saturday 19 July, they’ll be showcasing fresh local truffles from Blue Frog Truffles, and it sounds…well, truffic (get it?). Think Tajima MB4+ Wagyu scotch fillet (250g), dripping in a house-made merlot truffle jus and a side of truffle mash, and strawberry mint truffle panna cotta, paired with Blue Frog truffle-infused gelato. Eating truffles at a winter market – talk about the ultimate Canberra experience.
