A spirits festival is coming to Canberra and they had us at vodka paired with a caviar bump

Posted on

Two days dedicated to Australian and imported spirits? You’ll be sure to find a tipple that tickles your fancy here.

Helping locals get into spirit just before the silly season kicks off (get it?), The Canberra Spirits Festival is coming to the University of Canberra to offer alcohol lovers the chance to taste over 120 of the best spirits from popular distillers. We’re talking whisky, bourbon, gin, tequila, and rum – and yes, there will be vodka paired with a caviar bump.

Running from Friday 29 until Saturday 30 November, across the two days you can book a unique three-hour tasting session where you’ll get the chance to try everything from Black Geisha Coffee Liqueur (which sounds like the luxurious pick-me-up you need) to Prohibition Liqueur’s Christmas Gin (just in time for December) and Callington Mill Distillery’s range of award-winning Tasmanian Whisky.

As for the real reason you’re reading? Hugo Vodka will be there to give out a caviar bump and branded calico bag with every purchase – and honestly? Twist our arm.

But of course, along with tasting their products, you’ll also have the opportunity to meet the talented team behind your favourite tipples as they talk you through everything you want to know – from the best pairings to the history behind the brand.

But that’s not everything.

As well as enjoying your tasting as you move from booth to booth and select the spirits that interest you, you can also treat yourself and book into a private class from the International Spirits Academy to learn about rum, whisky, gin, and vodka from the experts.

From delving into the heritage of Caribbean rum with authority Mauro Ribeiro to tickling your tastebuds with a dram of whisky while learning the best way to drink whisky socially or at home and learning how to make the perfect vodka and gin martini with Brendon Mitchell, it’s perfect for anyone interested in a premium tasting experience or who wants to level up their knowledge.

If you decide you want to take a bottle or two home as an early Christmas present for yourself (which… let’s, be honest, you will), everything you taste will be available to purchase. Have we mentioned that you’ll also get a free branded tasting glass and branded tote bags?

And it’s not a festival without food, so don’t miss out on the food court which will be serving a wide range of delicious hot and cold food (and we hear that some Christmas fare will be sneaking into the menu).

Talk about a delicious day out.

With tickets on sale now, competitions to enter, and prizes to be won, run, don’t walk – or drive – so you don’t miss out.
