Posted on

Whether you’re craving a snack and a coffee or you need somewhere for inspiration to strike that’s away from the stressful school environment, these places are perfect for you.

These cafés range from quiet and cozy to bustling with life and energy. If it’s the food you’re after, you can be comforted in the knowledge that these places have delicious food and drinks with vegetarian and vegan options available too.

Tilley’s (Lyneham)

If you’re looking for somewhere cozy and are a lover of jazz music, Tilley’s is the place for you. With large, comfortable booths and tables to sit at and a (generally) quiet environment, it’s perfect for people who prefer to study in spaces with minimal distractions.

If you’re lucky, you may even get to see live jazz performances Saturday evenings from 6 pm.

Open Monday to Wednesday 7:30 am – 4:30 pm, Thursday to Friday 7:30 am – 9 pm, Saturday 8 am – 9 pm and Sunday 8 am – 3 pm | Brigalow Street and Wattle Street, Lyneham | tilleys.com.au

A Bite To Eat (Chifley)

If you tend to do your studying in the morning and early afternoon, A Bite To Eat is the one for you. With multiple places to sit outside, a comfortable seating area to lounge in, and dining tables, there’s a good chance there’s a seat available for you.

Their food and drinks are delicious too, with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options available to suit your dietary needs.

Open Monday to Friday 7 am – 2:30 pm and Saturday to Sunday 7:30 am – 2:30 pm | 8 Chifley Place, Chifley | abitetoeat.net.au

Eighty/Twenty (Greenway)

An absolute go-to if you don’t mind working in the bustling district of Tuggeranong. It can get rather busy, but with headphones and a bit of luck with finding a table, this little café is charming in its intimacy and welcoming environment.

With their lovely staff and tasty Acai bowls, Eighty/Twenty is perfect for gaining energy to fight procrastination through its lively atmosphere and food.

Open Monday to Sunday 7 am – 3 pm | 191 Anketell Street, Greenway | eightytwentyfood.com.au

Kita (Narrabundah)

For the people who study late at night, this café is for you. Catering for students and service workers, you’re guaranteed to be welcomed in to study during their opening hours. Depending on how busy they are, you may be limited to staying for only one hour, however, they don’t take any bookings, so you have the freedom to walk in if you spontaneously decide to go out one night.

The café opened with the inspiration of creating a place people can go to eat that is open past 9 pm, so if you’re a night owl, they have you in mind. Enjoy the freedom of late-night studying with the comfort of knowing there is a place for you.

Open Tuesday to Saturday 6 pm – 6 am | 59 Boolimba Crescent, Narrabundah | kitakafe.com.au

The Cupping Room (City West)

A chic, gorgeous café with delicious coffee and large, clear windows, perfect for feeling like the protagonist in a movie as you study. On a sunny day, it’s a beautifully bright spot for studying, especially if you prefer to use pen and paper rather than a computer.

Bring a few friends along with you, order some drinks, and watch it transform into a dazzling space for you and your friends to enjoy.

Open Monday to Friday 7:30 am – 3 pm and Saturday to Sunday 8 am – 3 pm | 1/1-13 University Avenue | thecuppingroom.com.au

Sweet Bones (Braddon)

This one is for the vegans and dog owners. It’s a busy, little vegan café with water bowls left outside for you to bring your dog along with you. Yes, it does get really busy,  but it is so worth it when you get to try what they have on offer. With many enticing treats available, you’ll be tempted to buy more than what you were originally craving.

In addition to the tasty food and busy environment, it’s a great place for taking your dog with you and studying in the company of your furry friend.

Open Wednesday to Sunday 6 am – 2 pm | 18 Lonsdale Street, Braddon | sweetbonescompany.com

Li’l Brew (NewActon)

If you’re interested in the thought of studying outside rather than inside a busy café, Li’l Brew is the place for you. While there are tables inside for you to sit at, there is a courtyard with many tables outside and a cover over each, so you’ll be shaded from both sunshine and rain. It’s a great place if you tend to find your inspiration while out among the elements.

If you prefer to study with friends, rest assured that there is plenty of space to have more than a few friends with you.

Open Monday to Friday 6:30 am – 3  pm | Pavilion 2/15 Edinburgh Avenue, NewActon | instagram.com/lilbrewespresso
