The Wine Room
The jewel in the crown at this cool new Braddon venue is surely its private dining room, which fits up to 12 people and features a stunning floral installation by Wiluna.
With warm interiors, hearty share plates and an extensive wine list, it’s the perfect option for the incoming cooler nights. The best part? It doesn’t cost extra to book if you nab either the 6 pm or 8.30 pm sitting.
If you’d prefer the room for the entire night, there is a $1500 minimum spend (or $125 per person in a group of 12).

Il Camino at Agostini’s
Recently transformed from an outdoor courtyard to a luxe new dining space, Il Camino at Kingston’s Agostini’s can be hired exclusively or partially for private functions.
Featuring a cosy fireplace, textured panelling, brass accents, large stone tables and terrazzo floor tiles, there is a mix of low and high seating and direct access to the bar through a large brass-framed window. The entire space holds 40 people and can be booked exclusively for a minimum spend, or book one of the large stone table that sits 12 for a partial private experience without a minimum spend.

Since opening in 2017, sleek Japanese restaurant Raku has built a steady following thanks to its tantalising menu and cocktails, but many don’t know it also houses a chic private room.

Courgette
One of Canberra’s long-running fine dining institutions, Courgette has two private dining spaces to choose from: the Cellar Room or the Board Room. Surrounded by more than 400 bottles of wine, the Cellar Room seats eight-10 people and has no minimum spend. If you’re after a more corporate vibe or power lunch, the Board Room fits up to 20.

The Boat House
If you’re after water views with a fine dining vibe, The Boat House has three private dining rooms to choose from: East End, Walters and West End. Each room features crisp white linen, crystal glassware and direct access to a lakeside deck and gardens.
The atmosphere is enhanced by floor-to-ceiling windows and a crackling open fire in the West End Room during the winter months. The first two rooms can fit up to 48 people (seated) while the West End room fits up to 88. Each room has a minimum spend (contact the venue for pricing as it differs depending on numbers.)
