From drive-in cinemas to physically-distanced parties, people are getting creative in the name of COVID-safe…
If the last few weeks of lockdown have taught us anything, it’s that Zoom, some games and a cocktail can turn a dull night at home into a fun (COVID-safe) time.
One Canberra friendship duo has taken the Zoom game night a step further with the creation of Silly Juice Cards, a downloadable PDF that transforms into a box of 52 drinking cards.
Perfect for a cheese and wine night or a virtual get together with friends, Silly Juice Cards was designed by 24-year-old Monique and 23-year-old Rhiannon, inspired by their desire for a unique card game that was easily accessible for people in lockdown.
“It’s a game for everyone to either play via Zoom or at a picnic with your friends. We wanted to ensure this game is isolation and lockdown friendly and easily accessible,” says the pair.
“Our friendship groups are card game fanatics, however, we wanted something more unique. Once we had created Silly Juice Cards and started to play we realised we had something that needed to be shared!”
The cards encourage players to reflect and react to prompts and the set comes complete with some cheeky-named (and perhaps a little NSFW) cocktail recipe cards.
Playing is as simple as print and cut, with Silly Juice Cards targeted for Canberrans aged 18-25 who enjoy a glass (or two) of bubbly—responsibly, of course.
“We love a cold glass of bubbles and often call it silly juice!” says the pair. “We thought what better name to pay homage to than creating something around what we both love—wine!”
Spending hours designing the cards and creating questions for the game, Monique and Rhiannon hope the cards help to get Canberra into a #sillyjuicymood by creating a “bit of fun for everyone, both in lockdown and for upcoming summer”.
“Use them at a picnic or before a night out to get to know more cheeky things about your friends!”
