Officially opening to the public on Friday 29 August, Q Dining has taken over the space that used to house eightysix south, transforming it into an elevated Vietnamese restaurant.

With clever interpretations of classic Vietnamese flavours, highlights include Smoky Saigon Octopus, Q Pho and Com Tam Saigon – a classic Vietnamese broken rice with juicy grilled pork chop, steamed egg meatloaf, fried egg, and tangy pickled vegetables. Hungry yet?

This cosy wine bar–bottle shop hybrid is set to become a local favourite. Bringing together a curated list of global wines and a full-flavour menu, book yourself a table here for when you’re looking for somewhere to settle in for a snack and premium sips.

From hibachi-grilled lamb belly skewers to truffle toasties, and a brilliantly creative interpretation of childhood potato gems, it will change everything you thought you knew about elevated comfort food.

You won’t find any Korean fried chicken here, but that’s the whole point. From the team behind Canberra favourite Vincent, Muk Bar has finally opened its doors to bring delicious Korean food to Barton.

Based on the Korean concept of “Anju” (which is to pair food with alcohol), all of the dishes are authentic, ranging from more casual street food like bulgogi tacos and the kimchi nachos to more elevated options like Beef Yukhoe.

All best enjoyed with a Matcha Martini or a Ginseng Margarita, you won’t have had anything like this in Canberra before.

From the team behind Terra and Recess, this new Braddon venue is part wine bar, part listening lounge, and all good vibes. And who doesn’t love a menu that’s snack-led but substantial?

Giving guests the freedom to graze or stay for a full meal, it’s inspired loosely from European wine bars, so expect to try charred prawns with prawn bisque, sugarloaf cabbage with hot English mustard hummus, wagyu bavette with smoked fat vinaigrette and more mouthwatering morsels.

The Goulburn Brewery (Goulburn)

Let’s call this one ‘Canberra adjacent’. Goulburn Brewery has just reopened its doors to reveal a stunning makeover, and it’s the perfect excuse for a road trip. Along with the lovingly restored Maltings Bar and dining room, the Goulburn Brewery also has some new offerings – including a new signature craft beer range aptly named “Wayback”, which is also used as a key ingredient throughout the menu.

And with an à la carte dining experience that highlights local Southern Tablelands produce – think Tathra Place Free Range for proteins, Musset Farm Mushrooms, and Morella Grove for oils and olives – you’ll want to go to this restaurant hungry.
